I spent hours and hours on this. Another interesting observation is that I am able to open the Share as a Network Map Drive not directly from Hyper Link. go to that folder that you are trying to share (example) "PUBLIC" folder - right click - advanced sharing - then collapse the "home/workgroup" then drop down the arrow on "PUBLIC" If it works for me, then it should work for you. http://macinstruct.net/cannot-access/windows-cannot-access-the-specified-drive-path-or-file-vista.html

Any help would be appreciated. There was no need to enter a password to access the Vista machine because password protection is turned off.
