I have this seagate external drivethat windows would not recognize after I took the computer off of sleep-- and you fixed it!!! Can you please let me know any other alternative. Restart the computer. i feel very silly for not having realized i simply needed to assign a letter to my drive.

You'll need to attempt data recovery If no new Disk appears for your USB drive, keep trying the other Troubleshooting steps till (hopefully) it does If no USB storage devices I have tried fitting it directly into an old computer as the master [and only] hard drive but then that computer will not start up. I've tried this method in an attempt to fix this issue, but was unsuccessful.
