I filled my new aquarium with the 6.0 ph last night and this morning 12 hrs later it read 6.8. Will need to go out and get a new test kit and see if it works better. If i do it this way around, would the then high ph affect the way the epsom salts and trace elements work on my gh and kh respectively ? If we start with a GH/KH both being 3, then one would expect KH and GH going up in parallel when the water dissolves the calcium in the substrate.
