This is not a firewall problem for sure. The one difference between the two is the netbook connects to other networks besides the home lan. So when I want to access it from the 7 machine, it will ask for the username and pass. (just like xp to xp machines do) I have read far and I also just added a computer description, clicked okay, now I can browse by computer name.

Perfecto! B shows up in B’s Network Places but A does not show up in either PC. If you are in a domain and you cannot see any other computer in My Network Places, it could be because DNS is not setup properly. You just solved my problem.
