You may need to set all the computers including the file server with the same WORKGROUP. The reason for this could be that your network connection (either wired or wireless) is not set up to see shared content from other devices. Go to the Control Panel Credential Manager Removed the all credential Put network address to (Server IP) Domain name\User Name User Password Check after reboot. I use it today and I was able to fix this issue. No dice. Just about to reinstall Windows and tried this.

You just saved so much grief Thank you so much!! It shows up as HOMENET, and i can just drag and drop files back and forth, like any other drive. This was a workgroup network not a domain client/server. I have a problem between a Windows Seven PC and Windows server 2000 SP4.
