I finally got it working. Thank you very much. I scanned for any viruses/malware and removed them. First, to the Internet (on another computer), ipfw.exe seems to be a legit file, possibly an earlier firewall (fw?) file, apparently now replaced by a firewall file named ip6fw.sys.
I am back online!
